Donations help us provide daily for each child's needs and welfare. Funds help feed, clothe, house and provide medical necessities. Plus provide transportation, qualified care givers and so much more.
DSM has an immediate need for a large cargo van. Our van was purchased used and has seen many miles of rutted, dirt roads. The maintenance on this failing vehicle has become more than the cost of purchasing a newer one. With the new school year fast approaching, it is urgent. Our goal is to raise $7500 for a newer van that has seen less of Uganda.
A big goal for RKU right now is Divine Junior School. The land for the school was donated. By building the school, we will be able to educate primary age students and provide housing right next door at Hope House. This will help lower tuition and boarding fees for out of town schooling.
Divine Junior School has cement floors, plastered walls and blackboards now. During this time, a faithful stewart is matching all donations. We now have funds for doors and windows! Thank you for continuing to give so generously. Thanks staff for your work at the school. We praise God for every one of you. Any size gift is a big blessing. Currently we have just under $5700.00 in the building fund to use towards furnishings and initial pay for staff. We are praying God leads us to more funds to get an additional $5000.00 and start the school year strong. PLEASE help us discover more sources of funding. School will restart in February. Registration for our school is going on this month. God moved us to build and He will lead us to completion.
Sponsoring a child guarantees a better quality of life and a future. It is a commitment through graduation and beyond. Education is not free or available to children in Uganda. The cost of sponsoring a child covers school tuition, supplies and boarding.
It is heart breaking to tell a child no one has chosen them. Please look at the Meet Our Children page and choose to generously support these placed in our care.
Go to Uganda
Walk the walk. We need hands and feet on the ground. Your skills can be used to teach others. As the ministry grows we need volunteers to teach valuable life skills to all ages. From cooking, sewing, and budgeting to farming, skilled labor, accounting and so much more.
Dates for the summer mission trip are set for July 18 through July 31, 2021. I am making flight arrangements through an organization that specializes in serving mission trips. Prices are lower than through agencies, yet still fly the main lines. Please submit a request to attend along with your personal story. I will send you the pertinent information.
We will leave from Pittsburg, make connections in Washington DC and then on to Belgium and then Entebbe, Uganda. Total travel time with layovers is approximately 27 hours. The flights cost around $1400.00. The stay in Uganda will be a little over $1000.00 which includes hotel, meals and some excursions.
We will have pre-travel Zoom meetings to inform you of activities, what you need to take, cultural issues and customs. You will need a current passport, Ugandan visa, a shot for Yellow Fever and recent documented Covid negative test results.
We will spend time with the kids, staff and families plus at the soccer field. We will be involved with mentoring new believers in Jesus, street and church ministry, small group studies, as well as work at the school and in the gardens. Most importantly, we will be the hands and feet of Jesus on the ground through the love of Jesus.
